The 2014 Ford Escape comes with an 11" rear wiper blade and 28" blades for both the passenger and driver sides. When replacing them, raise the blades halfway up the window for easier access and protect the glass by placing a sheet of cardboard in between. To install the new blades, press the middle where the blade meets the stalk to unhook them. Slide the new blade over the existing hook until you hear a click. Repeat this process for both the driver's and rear blades. Signs that you need to change the Escape's wipers include reduced visibility, visible rubber wear, or smearing during operation. Replacement sets typically cost between $30 and $50 and can be easily installed by the owner.
To replace the rear wiper blade on a 2014 Ford Escape, start by pushing the black plastic cover away from the wiper arm base. Lift the wiper arm away from the window to access the old blade. Slide your fingers between the old blade and the wiper arm, then use your other hand to push the old blade towards the window to remove it from the mounting bracket on the back of the wiper arm. Align the new wiper blade's mounting bracket with the plastic bar and snap the new blade onto the wiper arm until it clicks into place.
