In the 2019 Toyota Highlander, you can disable the backup warning sound by pressing and holding the button on the lower left of the dashboard that has a traffic cone icon. After successfully turning it off, a light in the instrument cluster will go out. This feature is exclusive to the limited trim level and is beneficial for ensuring you can safely reverse without the fear of hitting anything, as the sound alert activates when you are getting close to an object. While turning it off may compromise your safety when backing up, it can be helpful to do so when towing a trailer, as the feature is not as useful in those situations.
