If the check AWD system light is illuminated in the dashboard of your 2015 Toyota Highlander, it indicates that the ECU has identified an issue with the all-wheel-drive system. It's important to safely pull over and use an OBD II scan tool to retrieve the error code. Typically, the light appears due to a sensor problem or a loose sensor connection, rather than a complete system failure that would prevent the vehicle from operating. If you are unable to resolve the issue quickly, it is advisable to have the vehicle inspected.
If the check AWD system warning illuminates in your car, use an OBD scanner to check the code and find out the next steps to take.
I don't have any information on the Toyota Highlander, and it's not a vehicle I see myself ever owning.
One time, the warning and check engine lights came on because my car battery was running low. I had to jump-start the car, but once I replaced the battery, the lights disappeared. Thank goodness it all worked out in the end!
My 2015 Highlander experienced the same issue, and after using an OBD scanner, I found out it was a problem with the oxygen (O2) sensor.
