Toyota Yaris owners are reporting issues with the speedometer on the digital display in the dashboard, which may suddenly stop working and appear blank or black. To address this problem, you can first check the 10 amp fuse in the interior fuse box located to the left of the driver's knee, below the dash and steering wheel. Additionally, adjusting the electrical ribbon connector behind the digital display panel could also help resolve the issue. If these steps do not work, some have chosen to replace the speedometer or gauge panel with aftermarket parts as a last resort. In many cases, the problem is not related to fuses or wiring, and replacing the panel is the only solution to restore the functionality of the digital display.
The non-functioning digital dashboard in your Toyota Yaris might be due to a blown fuse or a faulty instrument cluster.
You need to replace the fuse in the dashboard.
In my situation, I discovered carbon build-up at the tips of the wire connector that stretches along the rear of the digital screen. I cleaned it with some paint thinner, and it did the trick nicely.
