If you're driving a Nissan Sentra and your USB port isn't functioning properly, this could be due to a few reasons. First, check the wiring for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure all connections are secure. If the wiring looks good, inspect the fuse to see if it's blown. If it is, it will need to be replaced, costing roughly $14 to $34 on average.

I discovered that the USB part of the connector was getting pushed inside, causing it to lose contact. It appears to have a sliding mechanism, so when you insert the USB stick, the connector pushes in and loses connection. Try inserting the USB stick and pulling it out slightly to see if the connector moves along with it. Alternatively, you could take it apart to inspect it closely. I resolved the issue by securing it in place with a drop of glue and a small wooden dowel against another part of the connector. It all makes sense once you've taken it apart. Another option is to purchase a USB Female A to USB Mini Female B Adapter and bypass the original USB port.

It's probably the way the unit is connected to the underlying connections that's causing the issue. One of the connections might be loose or faulty. Grab a cloth and a flat head screwdriver to release and inspect the connection.

It's obvious that a blown fuse is not the issue since the phone is still charging. Please provide a genuine solution instead of using offensive language.

My car's ports have been unreliable ever since I purchased it two years ago. I drive a 2021 Sentra, and this issue has prevented me from using Android Auto. I've tried using 10 to 12 different cords, but each one has stopped working due to a short circuit.
