To reset the oil light on a 2013 Mazda CX, access the menu on the main console dashboard. Navigate to maintenance and choose oil. Then, scroll down and press reset, and confirm the action. Doing this will turn off the light. If the light remains on due to needing an oil change, you must still follow these steps, or the light will reappear. When changing the oil in the vehicle, ensure the car has been turned off and parked for a few hours to allow the engine to cool down. Locate the oil pan and drain plug beneath the engine compartment. Place a bucket underneath the plug and remove it to let the oil drain into the pan. Wait until the oil stops dripping, which could take about an hour. Replace the drain plug once the oil has finished draining. Then, find the intake port on the top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to fill the oil pan to the full level, avoiding overfilling to prevent leaks and oil burn-off. It's okay to slightly underfill. After filling, close the port, clean up any spilled oil, and your oil change is complete.
