The 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander needs 4.5 quarts of 5w20 synthetic oil for an oil change. Before starting the oil change process, ensure that the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to avoid getting burned by hot oil. Locate the oil pan and drain plug in the engine compartment. Place a bucket underneath the plug and remove it to allow the oil to drain. Let the oil drain completely, which may take about an hour. Once it has stopped dripping, replace the drain plug. Next, find the intake port on top of the oil pan and use a funnel to refill the oil pan to the full mark, being careful not to overfill. It's okay to be slightly under the full mark, but overfilling can cause leaks and oil burning. After filling the oil, close the port, clean up any spills, and you're done.
