The 2008 Mazda3 has a variety of models available. It comes with either a 2.0 L inline-4 or a 2.3 L inline-4 engine, both with a 4.5 quarts capacity. The 2.3 L inline-4 turbo model, on the other hand, has a larger capacity of 6 quarts. For all variations, Mazda suggests using A5w-30 sae Viscosity motor oil with the API certification seal. This type of oil is recommended over semi-synthetic as it enhances the vehicle's overall performance, maintenance, and efficiency. Mazda advises changing the motor oil every 4000 to 5000 miles and also recommends replacing the cabin air filter at the same time to prevent any potential issues and maintain optimal car performance.
What kind of oil should I use for a 2008 Mazda 3?
5W-20 motor oil for engines without turbocharging
The 2008 Mazda 3 offers three engine choices: the 2.0L inline-4, the 2.3L inline-4 (engine code [3] 4), and the 2.3L inline-4 Turbo (engine code MZR G Turbo). The 2.0L and 2.3L engines require 4.5 quarts of 5W20 oil, while the 2.3L Turbo engine needs 6 quarts of 5W30 oil. These oil recommendations are for synthetic blend oil.
Just to clarify, the oil cap specifies 5w-20, not 5w-30 - at least on my car it does.
