Since 2016, Toyota decided to stop using third-party tools such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in their vehicles. Instead, they offer their own Entune Audio Plus system, which works with Telenav. Therefore, the 2016 Toyota Highlander does not include Apple CarPlay or Android Auto as standard features. However, you can still have these functions by installing a third-party stereo that is compatible with them. You can find these stereos at stores like Walmart, AutoZone, or Amazon. Once you have installed one of these stereos, you can connect your devices and use Apple CarPlay.
Unfortunately, Toyota vehicles do not offer the feature of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The 2016 Toyota Highlander is not equipped with Apple CarPlay, instead it features the Entune Audio Plus system.
