The 2019 Jeep Cherokee includes a start-stop system as a standard feature. This feature is designed to improve fuel efficiency in your SUV. When your vehicle comes to a complete stop with this feature activated, the engine will shut off. Once you release the brake and press the accelerator, the engine will automatically restart. This system helps decrease fuel consumption while the vehicle is stopped and idling, potentially saving you money in the long term. Many vehicles now come equipped with this feature to help lower carbon emissions.
Stop/start technology is a feature found in modern vehicles that automatically turns off the engine when the vehicle is stationary to save fuel. To activate stop/start, the brake pedal needs to be fully pressed, the car must be in a forward gear, and the vehicle must be completely stopped. In a Jeep Cherokee, this function is called "Stop and Go" and is available on all trim levels of the 2018 model. When activated, a green light on the dashboard will indicate that the vehicle is in stop/start mode.
