The 2015 VW Jetta TDI has a timing belt. The coolant should be changed every 60,000 miles, while the air filter should be replaced every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. Spark plugs need to be swapped out every 100,000 miles unless they are copper, in which case they should be changed every 30,000 miles. Engine issues can arise like loose gaskets that need tightening, spark plugs coming off, oil leaks that require immediate repair, excessive oil consumption necessitating early replacements, and the critical problem of engine overheating, potentially leading to fires and even the car exploding.
TDI engines do not require spark plugs since they are diesel-powered.
