While some older Nissan Frontiers have timing chains, your model uses a timing belt which needs to be changed periodically. When replacing the belt, it's a good idea to also replace the tensioner, water pump, other drive belts and hoses, cam seals, and crank seals. This maintenance should keep your vehicle running smoothly for another 60,000 miles or more. Your Nissan dealer can do all this work for approximately $700-$800, covering both labor and parts.
