The 2013 Chevy Silverado originally didn't have a cabin air filter installed. However, there are retrofit kits available for about $60.00 that allow you to install one. To do this, you would need to remove the vent shroud beneath the glovebox and create a hole in the vent duct where the filter would go. To check if your Silverado already has a cabin air filter, remove the four 7mm bolts from the plastic shroud under the glovebox. If there is a removable cover, then a previous owner has likely installed a filter. If not, it's fine to leave it as is unless you frequently drive in dusty conditions, in which case having the filter would be more convenient.

I recently watched a video on YouTube demonstrating how to swap out the filter. To my surprise, when I removed the panel, I discovered that there was no access door on my system. I looked behind my glove compartment and the only thing I found was a screen tucked away under the dashboard. I still need to investigate that further.

My 2013 LTZ doesn't have a 2500, I removed it because there is a retro kit available to install and the evaporator was in bad shape, causing the AC to freeze up with the filter in place, so keep that in mind.

From 2007 to 2013, vehicles do not come equipped with a cabin air filter from the factory. However, General Motors offers a retrofit kit for this feature. To cover a wider range, models from 2003 to 2013 also do not include a cabin air filter.
