The Subaru Crosstrek does not come with a power liftgate in any trim or model year. Subaru has not provided the option to add one either. If you're looking for a Subaru with a power liftgate, you should consider the Forester instead. The Forester offers a power liftgate and a little more horsepower as well.
I'm a little let down that my 2019 Crosstrek doesn't come with an automatic tailgate opener. I assumed it would have one since it's a common feature in cars these days.
I was considering purchasing a Crosstrek, but when I test-drove it and opened the tailgate, I noticed that it didn't have a power feature and lifted too high. It was frustrating because I couldn't easily lower it back down as I'm on the shorter side. I was disappointed because I truly liked the car, but having a power tailgate is a necessity for me. I don't want to deal with a tether to manually bring the hatch down, and I'm concerned that if I open it in my garage, it might hit the overhead door!
Not having a power lift gate is a deal-breaker.
Sorry, there is no power lift gate available for that model.
No, it's frustrating. I'm only 4 feet 11 inches tall and can't reach. I require a step stool due to the poor design.
I'm extremely disappointed that the car does not have an automatic lift gate. My 81-year-old mother was very fond of the car, but she is unable to reach the tailgate even with the strap they provided. It's a shame.
Automatic rear door with the ability to open and close with a push of a button.
