To reset the security system on your 2010 Ford Focus, you can start by unlocking the vehicle with the key fob and then inserting the key into the ignition, turning it to the on position. Keep the key in the ignition for 5 to 10 minutes before turning it off. After this, you should be able to start the vehicle normally. If this method doesn't work, you can also disconnect the car's battery for 20 minutes to perform a hard reset.
I no longer have the car's key fob.
First, press the unlock button on the remote. Then use the key to unlock the door and turn the ignition to the on position. This action should initiate a reset.
Both options are not effective.
Neither of them were successful for me.
Unlock your car using the key, then turn the key to the on position without starting the car. Keep the key in the on position for approximately 5 to 10 minutes, then turn it off and wait 2 minutes. The car should start and the anti-theft system should reset. If this method doesn't work, disconnect the battery for 20 minutes and then reconnect it to perform a complete reset on the vehicle.
