To reset the oil light on a 2018 Jeep Renegade, follow these simple steps. First, turn the ignition to ON without starting the car. Then, slowly press the gas pedal all the way down three times within 10 seconds. While pressing the pedal, you will notice different lights disappearing on the dashboard. After that, switch the ignition OFF and then back ON right away, and you will see the oil life reset on the dashboard. Normally, the oil light will turn off automatically after an oil and filter change, but if it doesn't, follow these steps. Don't ignore the warning light, as it could lead to expensive repairs. The light typically comes on every 3,000 to 5,000 miles when the oil needs to be changed.
Enable the vehicle by turning the ignition key without starting the engine, and if your car comes with a smart key button, press it to start.
Turn the car key to the on position but don't start the engine. If your vehicle has a start button, press it two times without stepping on the brake. Then, press the gas pedal all the way down three times slowly within ten seconds. Turn the car off, then start the engine to confirm that the indicator light has been successfully reset.
