If you've recently replaced the brake pads on your 2016 BMW X1 and need to reset the light, the process is straightforward. Start by turning the vehicle on without starting the engine and ensuring the time is displayed on the instrument cluster. Then, hold down the odometer reset button for five seconds until an orange triangle appears, followed by a circle with an exclamation mark indicating either the front or rear of the vehicle. Release the ODO button when you see the symbol, then press and hold it again until "RESET" appears below the brake pad symbol.
To turn off the brake pad light on your 2016 BMW X1, start by unplugging the positive battery cable and pressing the brake pedal for a few seconds. After that, reconnect the cable to reset the brake pad light. Make sure to also inspect the wheel sensors.
