The 2008 GMC Sierra has a known issue with a faulty fuse and AC relay that can affect the blower motor function. If the blower motor ceases to work, replacing the resistor may be necessary, costing between $40 and $80. Having it professionally replaced may cost around $100 to $140 for parts and labor. Alternatively, you can choose to do the replacement yourself to save money, as it is a quick and straightforward task. You will need a 7mm socket, ratchet, extension, and a 7/32 socket. Start by removing the sound baffle by unscrewing two 7mm screws, with one hidden behind the console cover on the right side. Unscrew the resistor, unplug it, replace it with the new one, then screw everything back in place.

Before replacing any components, try tapping the blower motor lightly with a wrench while the key and switch are turned on. This action might help revive the motor, as it worked for me.
