The primary issues with VW Touareg door locks typically stem from electronic or mechanical faults. The door lock actuators are responsible for managing the locks, along with a computer that engages and disengages them. One common issue you may experience is a malfunction with a door lock actuator, causing the locks to fail when you try to lock or unlock them. Another potential problem could arise from the body control module, which oversees the door lock actuators and alarm system. If this component malfunctions, the doors may not operate correctly in locking and unlocking.
The issue with door locks on the VW Touareg is due to a failure in either the door lock control module or the rear door lock actuator, requiring replacement.
I recently purchased a 2007 V6 Touareg and we've been experiencing a lot of very cold weather since then. When I use the remote to unlock the vehicle, all doors open except for the rear passenger side. No matter how many times I try to lock and unlock the door using the remote or the handle, it just won't open. Initially, the same issue happened with the rear OS door, where it would unlock but then bounce back when you tried to close it. This problem seems to have disappeared on its own. However, now another problem has arisen where all the doors except the rear OS one won't open when I try to unlock the vehicle, and I have to pull the handle to open that door. Could this be a result of the actuators malfunctioning in the cold weather? Once the vehicle warms up, all the doors lock and unlock fine. Or could it be a problem with the control module, or maybe both failing simultaneously? Any help or advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
