In your Kia Sorento, the component that delivers fuel to the engine cylinders is known as a fuel injector. A separate injector is allocated for each cylinder, meaning that a 4-cylinder vehicle will have four injectors, while a V6 will have six. While there haven't been widespread issues reported with the Sorento's injectors, like any part, they may eventually fail. Signs of injector failure can include a decrease in power, particularly when accelerating aggressively, as well as difficulties starting the vehicle or maintaining a consistent idle after it has been stationary for an extended period.
If your Kia Sorento is experiencing challenges with starting or idling roughly, it could be due to clogged or faulty fuel injectors, or a need to replace the MAP sensor.
