The GMC Sierra antenna may face a few typical problems. It could become rusty, causing difficulties in adjusting its position. Although it will still function properly in this state, moving it will be cumbersome. Another issue could be the antenna snapping off, rendering it inoperable. If this occurs, you will have to detach the antenna base. After disconnecting the wire, you can attach it to a new one and then reattach the base. At this point, you should have a functional antenna, but don't forget to test the radio to ensure it is working.
GMC Sierra owners have raised concerns about the radio antenna frequently showing an XM no signal error, leading to the need for replacing the XM Module in the factory radio.
