In 2017, the GMC Sierra may experience issues with its radio randomly shutting off or due to a possible loose wire, causing sound troubles. This problem could stem from either the truck's stereo speakers or a connected phone. To address these issues quickly, it's crucial to get them repaired promptly. If the source is the stereo's speakers, symptoms may include static noises, intermittent shut-offs, loose wiring, or a blown fuse. If the issue originates from the phone, it could be due to software update failures, syncing problems with the vehicle, a low phone battery, or signal obstruction.

My radio on Satellite XM starts acting erratically, with the GPS behaving strangely as well. The map screen constantly changes sizes, alternating between big and small. It keeps switching back to Satellite XM even when I'm playing a CD, and randomly changes channels. At times, all three preset rows are displayed simultaneously and cannot be removed. Even turning off the truck temporarily stops the issue, only for it to resume after a while. Clicking sounds are heard as if someone is pressing channel buttons, although no one is. My truck is not even three years old.

In early 2019, my 2017 GMC Sierra began experiencing issues with its radio and Bluetooth system. Despite reaching out to my dealership for assistance, they have not offered a solution. They informed me that the cost of replacing the radio is more than $900, not including labor. The radio fails to maintain a channel, continuously scrolls, Bluetooth connection drops, switched to military time, and now the display is completely black, making it impossible to access any functions.
