The 2018 Nissan Rogue may experience issues with the liftgate not opening properly, often due to a faulty liftgate actuator that needs to be replaced. The replacement cost can range from $400 to $500 without factoring in labor. To save money, you can consider replacing the actuator yourself, which is a relatively quick and straightforward process. First, open the trunk and remove the four clips on the panel using a flathead screwdriver. Next, gently remove the door opener button casing with the screwdriver, disconnect the connector from the wires, and pop out the hand grip on the panel. Pull down the panel to remove it. You'll then need a 10mm socket and needle-nose pliers to locate and remove the screws surrounding the actuator. Disconnect the actuator from the wires, replace it with the new one, and reassemble everything back together.
Different models of the 2018 Nissan Rogue might have difficulty opening the liftgate if the liftgate lock actuator requires replacement. This issue is frequently encountered by owners.
