In the 2012 Chevy Impala, the check engine light can be triggered by a loose gas cap or faulty radiator. Various engine issues can arise, such as a spark plug becoming dislodged, a loose gasket that needs prompt tightening, or oil leaks that require immediate attention. One critical concern is engine overheating, which could result in fires and even vehicle explosions. Excessive oil consumption may necessitate more frequent oil changes. It is recommended to change the coolant every 60,000 miles, replace the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, and swap out spark plugs every 100,000 miles unless using a copper one, in which case replacement is needed every 30,000 miles.
