There are a few reasons why the rear defroster isn't working in your 2014 Chevy Impala, with the most common issue being a blown fuse. The rear defroster uses a lot of power, so replacing a fuse is a common fix. If you've tried scraping ice off the window and may have damaged the delicate grid wires, even one broken connection can disrupt the entire grid's power flow. Faulty or disconnected wiring can also prevent heat from reaching the grid, as can a defective or loose rear defroster relay that blocks the electricity flow. Check your owner's manual to locate the relay. Less common causes could be an issue with the rear defroster switch, tabs, or wires that connect to the tabs.
To troubleshoot a malfunctioning rear defroster in a 2014 Chevy Impala, first check the condition of the fuses and then inspect the wires in the back window for any signs of damage.
