If the parking assist in your Kia Sorento is malfunctioning, it won't make beeping sounds to notify you of nearby objects. There are a couple of reasons why this might happen. The sensors can fail due to wear and tear, as dust and dirt can accumulate on them, affecting their performance. To resolve this issue, you can try cleaning or replacing the sensors. However, some Sorento owners encounter a common problem with the deactivation button in their vehicle. They may not be aware that turning off the sensors can disable the parking assist features. This button can be found at the rear of the gear shifter and in front of the center console. When the button is pressed, the parking assist is activated and turns yellow. If the button is not pressed, the parking assist will not function.
If the rear parking sensors in your Kia Sorento aren't working properly, it could be because there is dirt or debris stuck inside them. Make sure to clean any oil or soot from the sensors before you put them back in or consider replacing them.
