The Honda CR-V may experience issues with the radio audio buttons or steering wheel controls not working, typically due to a malfunctioning clock spring. This component links the horn, steering wheel controls, and airbag to their power sources through a ribbon as the wheel turns. If the clock spring is disconnected, the horn and/or audio buttons may cease to work. To find the clock spring, you can remove the steering wheel, as it is located behind the assembly. Additionally, problems could arise from a faulty body control module (BCM), which transmits data from the steering wheel's buttons to the vehicle's sound system. If there are no odd noises when steering, it is advisable to have the issue diagnosed for potential circuitry failures.
The issues with the steering wheel controls not functioning on a 2020 Honda CR-V could be due to a jammed steering wheel or a locked transfer case.
