If the airbag light in your 2014 Honda Civic stays illuminated, it likely indicates that there is an issue with the airbag system. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) has detected a problem. Normally, the airbag light turns on when you start the ignition and should turn off once the engine is running. The airbag system consists of a control unit, various sensors, seatbelt buckles, tensioners, and the airbags themselves. Any of these parts can malfunction. Driving your vehicle with the airbag light on raises the risk of severe injury in the event of a collision. From 1987 to 2015, frontal airbags helped save nearly 50,000 lives.

In a 2014 Honda Civic, the airbag indicator light might turn on if there are issues with the seat sensors or switches, which could lead to inaccurate readings of whether a passenger is present or the seat is occupied.

I experienced a strange problem with my 2014 Honda Civic. I was sitting in the car to keep warm while waiting for someone, when all of a sudden, alerts for the brake system and airbag system popped up on the dashboard. The car wouldn't start and the brakes seemed to be frozen. After turning off the car and trying a few times with some breaks in between, everything started working normally again. It was a mysterious situation that I can't quite explain.
