The front CV axles are the most likely cause of a clunking noise coming from the front end of your 2015 Nissan Frontier. These axles link the transmission to the front wheel hub, and if they are faulty, you'll hear a loud clunk whenever you turn the vehicle toward the problematic side. Replacing them is relatively straightforward if you have a jack, stands, and some basic hand tools. The part typically costs around $150.00. For those with a manual transmission, you’ll also need a couple of bottles of gear oil to replace the lubricant that drains out when you remove the axle.
If you're hearing clunking or thumping sounds from the front of your 2015 Nissan Frontier, it's probably due to faulty wheel bearings or damaged tie rods. It's a good idea to get your suspension checked out.
