The malfunction of the USB port in the Jeep Grand Cherokee is likely caused by a faulty fuse. To access the fuse box located under the hood of the vehicle, first raise and secure the hood. Look for a black box or case on the right side of the engine compartment with a visible seam. Open this box to locate the fuse. The back of the case's lid should have a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If the diagram is not present, refer to the car's owner's manual. Identify the damaged fuse by checking for a broken thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections. A broken strip indicates a faulty fuse that needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still functional and can be reinstalled. Replacement fuses are inexpensive, usually priced around $10.
Problems with the USB port on the Jeep Grand Cherokee may stem from a blown fuse or improperly connected wiring.
