If the red blinking light on the Honda CR-V's dashboard is on, it means the anti-theft system is activated, preventing the car from starting. If you have the security code, you can enter it to deactivate the system. Otherwise, you'll need to insert the key into the ignition, turn it on, wait 3 minutes, turn it off, then on again before trying to start the engine. If the engine starts, the system is disabled; if not, try the process again and ensure you wait long enough.
I can't seem to stop the flashing, even after trying to start and stop the car multiple times. Is there something else I should try? I haven't received any error codes, and I've checked the manual but couldn't find anything. I'm concerned that the battery might die overnight if the issue isn't resolved before I use the car again. Appreciate any advice you can offer.
The security system or the blinking light that doesn't move can be seen in the top left corner of the dashboard. In my CRV, the red flashing ball-shaped light is located on the lower right side of the dashboard, beneath the speedometer and fuel gauge. Interestingly, this particular light is not documented in the CRV Owner's Manual.
When the Honda CR-V is turned off, a flashing red light will show up to signal the security light.
That is a safety measure indicating that the security system is turned on.
The light is steady, should we inspect it to be sure everything is okay?
Press and hold the power button located above the blinking red light to reset your navigation system, phone connection, radio, and other features.
Why isn't this information included in the 2020 LX model's manual, and why is it so complex? What is its purpose, and how does it function?
Any positive responses would be greatly appreciated.
If you unlock the car but keep it unlocked, the light inside will turn off, but there won't be any security.
The 2019 Honda CRV is having trouble starting due to a red warning light appearing in the top right corner.
I've never seen that before. I suppose it's pretty common.
I'm experiencing a similar issue but I'm unable to unlock my car with the key as the key is not functioning. The red light is flashing as well. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
I concur with James Force's comment. The issue occurred following a battery replacement, where the red light continues blinking despite the key being in the ignition and the vehicle running. Another point to note is that the FM radio and Bluetooth functionalities are unavailable. To fix this problem, simply press and hold the power button above it. This solution applies to a 2014 CRV AWD.
Can the flashing security light drain my battery overnight?
