The main reason a backup camera might stop working in a Toyota RAV4 is usually a blown fuse, resulting in a no signal error. This issue can be easily resolved by checking the owner's manual or fuse box diagrams to locate the right fuse. If the camera displays black and white static, there may be a problem with the connection or a frayed wire, which can be fixed by ensuring all cables are securely connected or repairing/replacing the damaged wire. If the screen is black without a no signal error, it could be a wiring issue or a camera malfunction. There have been recalls by Ford for similar backup camera problems. Finally, if the picture appears blurry or distorted, a simple solution is to clean the lens with a microfiber cloth.
If your rearview camera isn't functioning, start by inspecting the fuse connection to ensure it is receiving power.
I switched out the radio in my Toyota for an Android one, but the new radio didn't have a connector for the camera. I ended up purchasing a camera separately, but it suddenly stopped working after just 10 days. I'm not sure what the issue could be. How can I troubleshoot this problem?
