If the USB port in your 2019 Jeep Cherokee isn't working, try checking the fuse. Remove fuse F80 from under the hood to inspect it for any signs of damage. Leave it out for around 30 seconds before putting it back in. If this doesn't solve the issue, you can perform a soft reset by switching the car to ACC mode. Press and hold the green phone button and the VR button simultaneously for 30 seconds, ignoring any audio prompts you may hear. Release the buttons, turn off the car, open the driver door for 30 seconds, close it, and then start the car. Many Jeep Cherokee owners have reported that following these steps resolved their USB port problem.
I'm having trouble with this. Does anyone else have a different suggestion?
This method successfully resolved the issue with my 2019 Jeep Compass. It involves performing a soft reset by holding down the green phone and speech recognition buttons while in accessories mode. Press the ignition button once and release it, then press and hold the two buttons for 30 seconds. After releasing the buttons, open the driver's door for 30 seconds, then close the door and start the Jeep. This process effectively resets the software and seems to have corrected the problem, possibly caused by updating the iPhone firmware.
The reason why the USB port in the 2019 Jeep Cherokee isn't working could be due to either a faulty cable or a defective port.
I attempted the soft reset without any success.
I can't believe it worked for me! Thanks a bunch! I was so close to buying a new USB module instead of forking out $100 for the warranty deductible. This is amazing! Appreciate it!
This didn't do the trick for me. I went as far as swapping out the media hub, but it keeps displaying either "device not supported" or a USB error message.
Wow, that was excellent! Appreciate the useful information.
It didn't work with my 2020 Jeep Cherokee Limited.
I successfully tried this on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Absolutely, Davin! I appreciate your effort on this post, it completely worked for me.
I've had success with this!!!
I've attempted all the typical methods, such as pressing and holding the radio knobs (volume and tuning) for 30 seconds. Each time I bring it to the dealership, the USB ports stop charging. My iPhones can still connect for data, but charging doesn't work. Could they be hitting something under the dashboard near the diagnostic port? Usually, it resets when I use the phone and voice recognition buttons. Any thoughts? Thank you.
It didn't do the trick for me...got any other suggestions? Should I switch out the USB media hub instead?
I attempted to reset mine, but nothing happened. Should there be a sound after 30 seconds to signal that it has been reset?
Went really well! Much appreciated!
Devin, yes, it seems to be working! My phone shows that it's charging, and Android Auto has started up. Thanks!
