The main reason why a USB port may stop working is likely due to a wiring issue, but there could be various other causes as well. Firstly, it's important to confirm that the cable connected to the port is in good condition. There might be a hardware or software problem that requires professional assistance. Additionally, dust may have entered the port, causing it to be unresponsive. It's advisable to clean the port thoroughly before seeking repairs. If the issue continues, check the fuse associated with the USB port as a blown fuse can prevent it from functioning.
Instead of immediately swapping out USB ports, tracking wires, or changing fuses, consider resetting the radio and clearing any personal settings first. This simple step solved my issue, saving me time spent replacing parts and troubleshooting.
If the USB port in your 2018 Chrysler 300 is malfunctioning, be sure to inspect both the port and the fuses for any signs of damage.
In the device settings, make sure to enable the option for "auto-connect USB ports." I found that mine was disabled, but once I switched the setting on, the ports worked perfectly, just like they should!
Inspect fuses #37 and #38. If the radio is silent, simply restart the car by turning it off and on again. This resolved my problem - fuse #38 was the culprit.
