Issues with the Honda CR-V fuel gauge not working can be due to a loose fuse or faulty float unit. Over time, vehicle parts may lose effectiveness, so replacing the fuel filter approximately every 30,000 miles is crucial. Neglecting to do so can lead to performance issues and hinder optimal fuel burn, affecting your miles per gallon. It is important to keep your gas tank in good condition as problems like a faulty control valve, loose tank, or stuck gas cap could occur. If you notice any gas leaks, it is vital to address them promptly.
Simply urinate in the fuel tank and everything will function properly! I recently tested this method.
I'm facing a similar issue and I'm wondering if resetting could be a possible solution. I have no idea how to do it.
I've been experiencing significant problems with my 2019 CRV. I've noticed a strange issue where the gas gauge shows empty and zero range after parking with at least a quarter tank of gas. When I start driving again, the bars go back up, the empty sign disappears, but it still shows zero range. I purchased the car brand new last October, and this issue started a few months later. The dealership initially couldn't identify the problem, attributing it to the slope of my driveway. However, it also happened at my parents' place where there's no incline. They eventually replaced a gas sensor and possibly a gas gauge, but the problem persists. I now have to bring it back for further investigation. The dealership claims they've never encountered this issue before and are unsure how to fix it. Dealing with this recurrent issue is frustrating, especially with young kids and car seats in tow. I really like the CRV, but I can't help but feel like I got a defective one. A new car shouldn't require frequent trips to the repair shop. It's frustrating.
I'm curious about how much gas the CRV holds when you fill it up. The manual says it's supposed to be 14 gallons, but mine doesn't seem to be holding that much. The dealer mentioned a reserve tank when I brought it up, but I have a 2020 CRV and I can only fit between 10 and 11 gallons in the tank.
You might have a faulty fuel sensor, or the wire connecting to the gauge could be damaged, causing it to lose power.
