More often than not, when your Toyota 4Runner’s heated seats are not working, the culprit is usually a wiring problem. Luckily, the heating elements themselves rarely malfunction, which is a relief for your wallet. Sometimes, the issue is simply a matter of the plug becoming loose from the back of the switch; in such cases, the most difficult part of the solution is admitting the oversight of not checking earlier. It's a good idea to check the wiring, switch, and fuse to pinpoint the problem, and chances are it will be one of these three. Unfortunately, if the problem lies with the heating element in the seat, it may not be cost-effective to replace it.
If the heated seats in the Toyota aren't functioning, it could be due to a blown fuse, faulty wiring under the seat, or a malfunctioning thermostat.
