In the USA, fixing a transmission in a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer is often more affordable than getting a new one. However, it's a complex process that involves removing the transmission from your vehicle to replace the damaged parts. The typical cost for a transmission rebuild is between $800 and $1,400. It's a challenging task that can take a mechanic about a week to complete. They may discover additional damage once they start the repairs, such as unexpected issues caused by debris from a broken gear inside the gearbox.

Repairing the transmission in a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer could set you back around $85 to $120.

85-120? Nope, that's totally incorrect. I had a rear-wheel drive (RWD) car in a shiny red color and the least expensive shop in my state (Ohio) quoted $2,600 - $2,800 excluding tax, with a 3-year, 30,000-mile warranty. And this was the lowest price! They offered a rebuild option, and while they were reputed for quality work, they weren't specialized in performance cars.

That answer is totally incorrect! What are you thinking? I recently had my car repaired over the summer and was charged $750 to reassemble some parts and replace the faulty ones with new ones. It only lasted 61 days before I had to take it back for repairs again in July. Today, it's still acting up just like before. I'm considering getting a remanufactured one now.
