The 2000 Nissan Frontier with a 2.4-liter engine requires 4.1 quarts of oil, while the 3.3-liter engine takes 3.5 quarts. To change the oil, ensure the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to cool down. Locate the oil pan and drain plug underneath the engine. Place a bucket under the plug, remove it, and let the oil drain completely, which could take about an hour. Once drained, replace the plug and then find the fill port on top of the oil pan. Use a funnel to add oil until it reaches the full mark, avoiding overfilling to prevent leaks and oil burn-off. Close the port, clean up any spills, and you're done.
