In 2018, the Hyundai Sonata offered a choice of three engines: a base 1.6L 4-cylinder, an optional 2.0L 4-cylinder, and a second optional 2.4L 4-cylinder. The standard engine requires 4.8 US quarts of oil, the 2.0L needs 4.3 US quarts, and the 2.4L requires 5.1 US quarts, all including the filter. Regardless of the engine, they all need to use 5W-20 synthetic motor oil and should have their oil changed every 7,500 to 10,000 miles.
Does the 2.4 liter Sonata require 5.1 quarts of oil every 3 months, 4 months, weekly, daily, or another time frame?
In the 2018 Hyundai Sonata lineup, all 2.4 liter models - SE, SEL, SEL +, Sport, Sport +, Limited, and Limited + - require 5.1 quarts of oil. The 2.0 liter engine models (2.0T Sport, 2.0T Limited, and 2.0T Limited +) also use 5.1 quarts of oil. The smallest engine, the 1.6 liter Hyundai Sonata ECO, uses 4.8 quarts of oil. Additionally, Hyundai's 2018 Sonata hybrid models - SE, Limited hybrid, Sonata plug-in hybrid, and Sonata Limited plug-in hybrid - all necessitate 4.3 quarts of oil.
The dealer pours in 5 quarts of oil.
It would be around 5.1 quarts of 5w-20 motor oil.
