If you need to reset the MyKey system in your 2012 Ford Escape, perhaps for selling the vehicle or reprogramming a key, you can easily do so. This process will delete the settings associated with both keys for your car. Initially, access the settings menu on your infotainment screen. Locate the "MyKey" option, then confirm. Scroll down to find the "Clear MyKey" option, select it, and hold down the OK button until the screen displays "All MyKeys Cleared". Following this, you can establish new driver profiles for key 1 and key 2.
To remove restrictions on using two keys for your 2012 Ford Escape, you can reset the mykey feature. Simply access the "settings" menu on your information display screen using the controls on the steering wheel. Navigate to "mykey" and select "clear mykeys." Then, follow the prompt to hold down "ok to clear mykeys" as the system clears the keys. Once you see "all mykeys cleared" on the screen, release the control. It's important to have both keys in the vehicle for the deactivation process to work successfully.
I purchased this item as secondhand and it came with only one key. I am not sure if I should attempt to reset it or if having a new key might assist in resolving the issue.

I'm not sure about that.
