In the 2019 Toyota RAV4, the brake hold feature keeps the car stationary even after releasing the brake pedal. To engage it, simply press the button above the electric parking brake button when the vehicle is fully stopped with the brake pedal depressed. The button's indicator light turns green when activated and yellow when holding the brakes. However, the system cannot be used in park or reverse, or if the driver door is open or seat belt is unbuckled. You need to manually turn it off when you want to deactivate the system.
In a 2019 Toyota RAV4, the hold button serves as an automatic stop feature. When activated and you bring the car to a stop, it will stay in that position even if you release the brake pedal.
If you don't want to press the brake pedal, you can use the "hold" button. Once activated, it will automatically engage every time you come to a stop. If you happen to unbuckle your seat belt, it will disengage and automatically activate the parking brake.
