The 2010 Honda Civic has a capacity of 3.9 quarts of Synthetic Motor Oil 5W-20. Before changing the oil, ensure the car has been parked and turned off for a couple of hours to prevent burns from hot oil. Locate the oil pan and drain plug under the engine - place a bucket underneath and remove the plug to drain the oil. Allow it to fully drain (which might take about an hour), then replace the drain plug. Use a funnel to refill the oil pan to full, being careful not to overfill as this can cause leaks and oil burn off. Once filled, seal the port, clean up any spills, and the job is complete.
