The ECO setting found in the Jeep Grand Cherokee helps improve fuel efficiency by adjusting the transmission's performance. This mode causes earlier upshifts and delayed downshifts. Activating the mode also turns on the air suspension system and lowers the car to "Aero Ride Height." In V-8 models, Fuel Saver Technology can disable cylinders and adjust throttle sensitivity. Fuel delivery is reduced during coasting, and the engine's idle speed is lowered. Typically, Eco mode is activated when the vehicle is started and can be deactivated at will. You can find the button for Eco mode in the center of the dashboard near the fan controls.
In a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Eco mode is created to increase gas mileage by tweaking features such as deceleration fuel shut off, idle speed, and transmission shift timing.
