The Hyundai Kona EV is able to tow up to 2,800 pounds, despite not being specifically built for heavy towing. The electric motors provide additional torque that enables it to handle some weight. However, electric vehicles in general are not ideal for towing, as adding extra weight like a trailer can significantly reduce the range, necessitating more frequent stops to recharge. If towing is a priority, it's advisable to opt for a gasoline or diesel truck or SUV instead of the Kona EV.
The Hyundai Kona EV has a towing capacity of 1300 kilograms for the 2019 model year.
