When changing the oil in your vehicle, first ensure that the engine has been turned off and allowed to cool for a few hours to avoid burning yourself on hot oil. Locate the oil pan underneath the engine and find the drain plug. Place a container beneath the plug and remove it to let the oil drain out completely. Once the dripping stops, reinsert the drain plug. Locate the oil fill port on top of the oil pan and use a funnel to refill the oil to the full mark, being careful not to overfill. It's better to be slightly underfilled than overfilled to prevent leaks and excess oil consumption. Close the fill port, clean up any spills, and you're all set.
