If the Chevy S-10 experiences issues with its fuel pump, you may notice several symptoms. Firstly, you might observe irregular or sluggish acceleration, or in some rare situations, surging. This occurs because the engine is receiving an incorrect amount of fuel, leading to either underperformance or overperformance. Secondly, you may feel shaking or shuddering when the vehicle is idling, which could result in stalling. This is also caused by insufficient fuel delivery. The fuel pump is located on the underside of the car connected to the fuel rail. It can be easily replaced as it simply bolts on. The cost of a new fuel pump is approximately $300.
