The BMW 5 Series is renowned for offering a plush and opulent driving experience mainly because of its air suspension system. However, this same air suspension can be a source of frustration for many BMW fans; with great performance comes significant upkeep. This means dealing with several repair and maintenance tasks that you wouldn't encounter otherwise. For instance, the self-leveling suspension air compressor is prone to failure, costing you around $225 for a replacement - closer to $450 if you opt for professional installation. And if the self-leveling suspension air springs fail, you're looking at an additional $120 for a pair. Even the air supply valve is prone to malfunctions, and while $75 may seem minor compared to other suspension parts, it's still not a cheap or simple fix for an item as small as a golf ball. While the 5 Series delivers exceptional driving enjoyment, the air suspension may also bring numerous challenges.
If your BMW 5 Series is drooping at the back, the likely cause would be a leak in the air suspension system.
