In the 2000 Nissan Pathfinder, there are two common types of transmission issues. One is related to mechanical problems, while the other involves the transmission control module. Both types manifest different signs. Mechanical issues may result in loud operating noises and grinding sounds during gear shifts. Checking the fluid for metal damage is advisable if excessive noise is heard. On the other hand, problems with the transmission control module can cause delayed gear shifts, creating a sensation that the vehicle is searching for the next appropriate gear.
Certain issues with the transmission on the 2000 Nissan Pathfinder involve problems with shifting gears automatically, difficulties in reaching higher gears, complete breakdown of the transmission, and issues with shifting into reverse gear.
My Pathfinder is able to shift from 1st gear to 3rd gear, but it is not able to shift into 4th gear and overdrive. Can anyone assist me with this issue?
