Make sure to regularly inspect the coolant levels in your 2009 Toyota Corolla. The Corolla uses Zerex red pre-diluted antifreeze with OAT technology made for Asian vehicles. Alternatively, you can opt for OEM Toyota Super Long Life coolant. Always ensure that the vehicle has been turned off for a while before opening the radiator or coolant cap to prevent any accidents due to extremely hot fluids that can spray out when the engine is hot. Look for the antifreeze reservoir in the engine bay, typically located on the passenger side. When topping up antifreeze, particularly in hot weather when the engine is working harder, use a funnel. Reasons for overheating may include low coolant levels, faulty thermostats, or a malfunctioning water pump.
In a 2009 Toyota Corolla, the coolant/antifreeze being used is a yellow concentrated formula.
