Several Mazda CX3 owners have complained about a troubling problem of significant battery drainage that prevents them from starting or driving their cars. Despite the alternator testing within the correct voltage range of 13-14 volts, the batteries are being depleted to only 3 volts. This issue arises within just 24 hours, even after replacing the battery. The usual culprits for battery drainage, such as leaving lights on or doors open, were ruled out in these cases. The problem seems to be related to an unseen drain on the battery power. Some have found a solution by replacing the #17 fifteen amp AT Transaxle control system fuse in the under-hood electrical box.
The battery issues in the 2020 Mazda CX-3 may arise from a faulty alternator or malfunctioning connections.
